Building Engineer | Direct Hire

Commercial Real Estate / Facilities Maintenance
$24 - $27/hr. + Overtime (Time-and-a-Half) + Company Vehicle
Raleigh/Durham Area, NC
Monday-Friday | Full-Time


Must pass a background check, drug screen, and DMV check (3 points or less required) after an offer is extended. Valid driver's license required.

We're partnering with a respected commercial real estate organization, seeking a Building Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial office properties throughout the Triangle. What You'll Do as a Building Engineer

  • Perform preventative maintenance and general building maintenance throughout an assigned portfolio of commercial properties.
  • Conduct building inspections to ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, locks, hinges, and other building components as needed.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including flush valves, drains, faucets, and dispensers.
  • Complete monthly inspections of roofs, windows, emergency lighting, elevators, and fire safety systems.
  • Assist with light electrical work, including troubleshooting breakers and minor outages.
  • Make minor HVAC adjustments and support building automation systems.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and related building documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, property management, and tenants.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and support emergency maintenance needs.


What We're Looking For

  • 1-3 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or commercial property maintenance experience.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and general building repairs.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and building systems.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.  
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work independently.
  • Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.  
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
