The Certified Life Skills Instructor Senior /House Manager position is responsible for the oversight and supervisionof the house's daily operations, including supervising Certified Life Skills Instructors. The Certified Life Skills Instructor Senior provides support, assistance, and training to team members on how to assist Members with daily living skills during morning, afternoon, and evening routines, helping Members reach their highest potential and perform daily activities as needed.Essential Job Functions:Supports Members by:Oversight of the implementation of each Member’s Person-Centered Plan and Habilitation Plan dailyTraining and supervising team members during implementation during daily job dutiesPromotes Member Rights and Dignity as demonstrated by use of positive behavior supports, appropriate tone of voice and behavior, and respectful interactionsOversight and management of house and client funds, including proper documentation and monthly billingOrganizes/plans socialization events such as community activities and New Vista programsOversees the implementation of the New Vista Nutrition ProgramAssists/observe medication management according to MEDS training standardsEnsures the Health and Safety of all Members by:Oversight and maintenance of the home as required by Quality Assurance standardsConsults and coordinates with the clinical team and Nurse Practitioner regarding members’ health needs, and schedules and attends medical and/or psychiatric appointments as neededCommunicating members’ needs, medical/behavior needs, and progress to the Case Manager and GuardiansCommunicating concerns, such as inappropriate interactions between Members and co-workers and/or between Members living together, to the Case Manager immediately, including interactions which may rise to the level of MistreatmentManages escalated situations by use of Safety Care training standardsResponds to emergencies by using CPR certification techniquesSupervision of Team Members:Treats team members with dignity and respectRole-models New Vista mission and policies and proceduresHold self and team members accountable to uphold Member Rights, health and safety, and all New Vista policies and proceduresOversight of and accurate and timely completion of communication logs, daily tracking sheets (when assigned), timesheets, and incident reportsAssisting Case Manager in collecting/organizing documentation as required by the Person-Centered Plan meetings and the Human Rights CommitteeSkills and Abilities:Verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write and provide documentation as describedRead and understand client information, instructions, case notes, incident reports, manualsVisually observe, hear, and respond to MembersTraining and supervision of team membersAbility to manage time and budget funds appropriatelyDrive passenger vans, including 15-passenger and handicap accessible vansAttend all New Vista ongoing trainings and ensure team members attend as requiredPlan and organize monthly House Meetings with the Case ManagerMinimum Required Education and Experience:Minimum of five years’ experience in a related field.Preferred: Background as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or current CNA certificationPreferred: Three to five years of experience working in a nursing home setting or supporting Members with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require total careMinimum of two years in a supervisory and/or management positionMinimum of a high school diploma or equivalentPass all pre-employment and post-employment screening such as local, State, and FBI background checks; drug screening; sexual offender screeningSuccessfully complete New Vista new employee training (CPR, medication management (MEDS), behavior management (Safety Care)Successfully complete New Vista in-house trainingMaintain annual training as required and scheduledPhysical Demands:Required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, frequently talk or hear, reach with hands, lift arms above and below shoulder level, occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl during the course of regular work activitiesAbility to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds abilityAbility to be out in Las Vegas area outdoor weather conditionsTransfer Members from seated position to standing; into/out of wheelchairs as requiredEqual Opportunity:New Vista is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
