Senior Interior Designer

Full Time KC, Kansas City, MO, US

Who is Multistudio? Design isn’t just what we do—it’s how we connect people to place. At Multistudio, we’re a collective of designers and architects who believe environments should inspire, support, and delight. With five studios and a diverse, employee‑owned team, we create interiors that do more than look good—they spark transformation in communities, cultures, and daily life. Let’s bring purpose to every surface, and beauty to every interaction. The Opportunity We are seeking a full-time Senior Interior Designer for our Kansas City studio location. In this role you’ll have a lead position in project design, interiors team management, and client communication. You’ll lead design visioning, concepts and documentation and oversee consistency and quality to final execution. You’ll ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. You’ll partner closely with interiors leadership to strengthen the firm’s reputation through thought leadership, business development and strategic planning efforts. What You'll Do
  • Lead and mentor junior associates to develop innovative design concepts for projects that are client-focused, functional and aesthetic.
  • Opportunity to manage interiors projects and teams, including client communications, timelines and budgets.
  • Lead client presentations and serve as the main point of contact for clients on interiors projects, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Ensure design compliance with applicable codes, accessibility standards and regulations.
  • Elevate knowledge of innovative materials and applications, integrating sustainable and energy efficient strategies.
  • Oversee the production and execution of high quality construction documents and detailed drawings by conducting thorough quality control checks throughout the project.
  • Coordinate directly with contractors, architects, and engineers to ensure that the design is executed and deadlines are met.
  • Support business development through networking and client acquisition, contributing to proposal development and RFP responses.
What You Bring
  • Professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or Interior Architecture
  • Certification as licensed professional, preferred NCIDQ.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ interiors related experience
  • Experience working with high-design projects
  • Strong skills in client and team communication, design, and consultant coordination
  • Ability to create and communicate new ideas both independently and in collaboration
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment and be flexible to lead or mentor numerous teams in any project phase

Who You Are

  • Strategic thinker with a creative mindset
  • Confident communicator and relationship builder
  • Curious, culturally attuned, and design-literate
  • Detail-oriented with strong editorial judgment
  • Agile, organized, and deadline-driven

Why Join Us?

  • Employee ownership: Share in the success you help create.
  • Flexible work culture: A hybrid environment that supports balance.
  • Purpose-driven mission: Work that makes a difference—in lives, communities, and the world around us.
  • Creative community: Join a collective of people who care deeply about design, impact, and each other.

Ready to design a better future, together? We’d love to hear from you.
