Job description

 

Job Summary

Serves as an intermediate between customers and kitchen staff. Ensures that orders get to tables as quickly and accurately as possible. 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures all food orders get to the kitchen staff.
  • Inspects all prepared food before it gets delivered to the table.
  • Ensures all dishes are made according to the recipes that are set forth.
  • Ensures all food is properly garnished prior to running it out to a guest.
  • Notifies all wait staff and food runner that the dishes are ready for delivery.
  • Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for expo station cleanliness and restocking throughout the shift.
  • Empties trash and spot sweeps whenever floor needs it or upon manger’s request.
  • Performs opening and closing responsibilities in a timely and detailed manner.
  • Must be able to verbalize guests’ needs to another employees/manager.

Other Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain safety & cleanliness of workspace.
  • Serve guests in friendly manner and encourage repeat patronage.

Knowledge, Skill, & Abilities

  • Ability to provide top-notch customer service in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure with all restaurant staff.
  • Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food when necessary.
  • Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights.
