We are looking for an experienced, proactive Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our dynamic, close-knit team and help us continue to deliver top-tier service.
The Role at a Glance
As our Commercial Lines Account Manager, you will be the backbone of our client retention and support strategy. Working side-by-side with our Producers and Managers, you will service, market, and manage commercial insurance accounts. You’ll be the ultimate advocate for our clients, ensuring their renewals are seamless, their coverage is airtight, and their questions are answered with speed and precision.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
Client Service Excellence
- Be a Trusted Partner: Present a professional, friendly demeanor to build strong, lasting rapport with clients and carrier partners.
- Rapid Response: Handle client requests efficiently, returning all calls and correspondence within the same business day.
- Strategic Proposals: Prepare and present insurance proposals clearly via mail, phone, or in-person.
Account Marketing & Retention
- Market Renewals: Proactively market renewal business to secure comprehensive coverage and competitive pricing for our clients.
- Account Rounding: Identify and act upon opportunities to "round out" client accounts by suggesting beneficial additional coverages or making warm referrals to our Personal Lines, Benefits, and Life departments.
Policy & Data Administration
- Documentation Mastery: Log all client interactions and service activities comprehensively inside the Applied EPIC system.
- Accurate Issuance: Process incoming policies, verify the accuracy of paper/electronic files, and transmit them promptly to clients. Finalize coverage issuance to ensure everything meets strict agency standards.
- Turnaround Deadlines: Issue binders, certificates, evidences of insurance, and auto ID cards per agency guidelines. Process policy endorsements within 24 hours of receipt.
- Financial Tracking: Manage and follow up on all suspended workflow items, invoice agency-billed items accurately, and prepare/process premium finance agreements.
What You Bring to the Team
- License: An active California Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance license is preferred. (Willing to fast-track the right candidate to obtain it).
- Experience: Previous insurance broker/agency experience, specifically handling or assisting with Commercial accounts.
- Industry Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of commercial coverages, underwriting, and rating practices (or a proven ability to learn complex concepts fast).
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with the Applied EPIC agency management system is a major plus, though we are willing to train the right person.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an eye for detail.
