Open a new Japanese matcha and dessert store in downtown Manhattan this November as our founding operations lead!

Two of our portfolio companies at Meridian Consumer Partners, a consumer brand investment and operations group, open this November: the Japanese matcha/dessert, and a boutique fashion retail concept store — with plans to expand to more locations thereafter. You'll launch and run the Japanese matcha/dessert store — your primary focus — with some support to the fashion retail concept store's operations.

You'll: Lead the launch of the store and project management with vendors, suppliers, contractors, POS, and staff training. Run the store day to day — team of 4–6, customer service, inventory, merchandising, DOH standards. Own drink and dessert production standards, some menu development. Hire and train the opening team, and help build the playbook for the next locations. Provide some operations support to the fashion retail store — merchandising, inventory, operations.

You have: 2–3+ years leading F&B and/or boutique (fashion) retail store operations; store launch opening experience preferred. Comfortable with inventory, POS, P&L, and switching contexts within a growing group. NYC Food Protection Certificate, or able to get one fast. Matcha, Japanese food, and/or fashion retail experience a plus.

Details: Start immediately. Full-time; project-to-permanent considered. Real growth: this is a hands-on, boots-on-the-ground operations role that leads to potential multi-unit leadership as more stores open. Compensation discussed with qualified candidates, plus performance bonus and long-term incentive and participation opportunities.
