Job description

The Quality Inspector I is responsible for inspecting and releasing manufactured products while supporting quality activities throughout the production process. What You’ll Do

  • Perform sample-based inspections for in-process manufactured products
  • Perform CER particle testing
  • Review production documentation for accuracy and compliance
  • Identify and support investigation of non-conforming product or conditions
  • Trace non-conforming conditions to their source and properly segregate potentially affected material
  • Complete required paper and electronic documentation accurately and legibly
  • Use, maintain, and properly store quality inspection equipment and instruments
  • Properly file quality documentation and samples
  • Communicate quality requirements and work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, and other departments
  • Provide clear communication during shift changes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area
  • Support company goals, quality objectives, Medbio’s Corporate Mission, and Core Values
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic math skills, including decimals and geometry
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work accurately and pay close attention to detail

Preferred:

  • 0–2 years of quality assurance or inspection experience
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing industry
  • Basic measuring or inspection skills
  • Basic blueprint-reading skills

Training will be provided for measuring and blueprint-reading requirements.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour workweek on 1st shift, with occasional overtime or work outside the normal schedule
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods and walk throughout the facility
  • 20/20 vision with or without corrective lenses
  • Ability to distinguish colors and perceive depth for product and safety requirements
  • Ability to hear and respond to audible alarms from distances of up to 100 feet
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds


About the Role

The Quality Inspector I reports to the Quality Manager and works closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Maintenance, operators, assemblers, and technical staff to help ensure products meet specifications and quality requirements.
