Job description

Position Summary:

Performs one or more of the following: Diagnostic Radiology, Diagnostic surgical procedures (primary diagnostic responsibility), Computerized Tomography, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound and/or Mammography.

Performs technical aspects of radiography that ultimately lead to completed radiographic procedures with complete clinical history. Operates radiological equipment in a filmless environment, administering medical x-rays on injured and/or sick patients as directed by physicians following accepted procedures and policies.  Checks the technical aspects of radiographs to determine the exactness of position and technique, assists radiologists as needed, prepares study for interpretation, and provides quality patient care.

Qualifications:

A.       Education:  Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT) and certified by the state of Texas, Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).

B.       Training and Experience:  One year hospital experience preferred but not required.  Current BLS certification thru the American Heart Association required.

Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

  1. Occasionally required to lift and position patients for procedures.
  1. Possible exposure to infectious diseases and radiation.
