Job description

Priority consideration is provided to candidates who apply directly at mayker.com/apply.

Mayker is a design resource for the events industry, helping clients create more considered environments through a curated collection of furnishings and rentals, creative direction, and thoughtful project support.

We’re looking for a highly capable, design-minded Client Coordinator to own client opportunities from initial inquiry through confirmed scope while helping deepen Mayker’s relationships across Atlanta and the Southeast.

This is not an entry-level coordination role. We’re looking for someone with the professional judgment, client presence, design instinct, and independence to take meaningful ownership of client opportunities and relationships.

The right person combines strong judgment, initiative, and commercial instinct with a natural eye for design. You should be equally comfortable leading a client conversation, identifying an opportunity, building a thoughtful proposal, and pulling together a cohesive product direction when a client comes to us without a fully developed vision.

We aren’t looking for someone who needs every next step defined. The right person is resourceful, motivated, and confident making good decisions independently—while knowing when a project warrants collaboration or escalation.

You’ll become deeply fluent in Mayker’s products, services, and point of view, using that knowledge to make recommendations clients trust and to recognize opportunities to strengthen both the project and the relationship.

What You’ll Do

The role is primarily focused on client development and proposal ownership (approximately 75%), with a meaningful component dedicated to relationship-building and Mayker’s presence in Atlanta and key Southeast markets (approximately 25%).

Client Development & Proposal Ownership

Own opportunities through the early and middle stages of the Mayker client journey, turning inquiries and conversations into thoughtful, well-scoped projects.

  • Develop deep fluency in Mayker’s services, inventory, capabilities, and aesthetic
  • Lead inbound inquiries from new and existing clients with confidence, responsiveness, and good judgment
  • Ask smart questions that uncover what a client actually needs—even when their initial direction is limited
  • Recognize opportunities within an inquiry and thoughtfully expand or refine the scope when it serves the client
  • Develop estimates and proposals across Mayker’s event and interiors work
  • Translate conversations, inspiration, floor plans, and broad creative direction into clear scopes and product selections
  • Independently curate furnishings and product combinations when clients look to Mayker for creative direction
  • Create proposal materials that communicate ideas clearly, persuasively, and beautifully
  • Own revisions, follow-up, and client communication through booking
  • Keep opportunities moving without requiring constant direction or reminders
  • Manage multiple active clients and priorities while maintaining excellent organization and follow-through
  • Ensure confirmed projects are accurate, thoroughly scoped, and positioned for a clean handoff to production
  • Partner with the Client Services Director on especially large, nuanced, or high-value opportunities

This role requires more than strong administration. We’re looking for someone who can assess what’s in front of them, determine what a client or opportunity needs, and move it forward thoughtfully.

Southeast Relationships & Market Development

Help strengthen Mayker’s client relationships, reputation, and opportunities throughout Atlanta and the broader Southeast:

  • Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with planners, agencies, venues, hospitality groups, and creative partners
  • Stay attentive to opportunities for Mayker to deepen existing relationships or build new ones
  • Represent Mayker confidently in client meetings, walkthroughs, networking events, installations, and industry gatherings
  • Follow relationships beyond the initial introduction, creating consistent touchpoints and identifying opportunities to work together
  • Develop an informed understanding of the Atlanta and Southeast creative and events landscape
  • Help identify organizations, projects, partnerships, and relationships worth pursuing
  • Serve as a thoughtful, credible representative of the Mayker brand in the market

Who You Are

  • Self-directed. You don’t wait for someone to map every next step. You take ownership, find answers, and keep things moving.
  • Strategic. You can distinguish between completing a request and recognizing the larger opportunity behind it. You think about the project, the client, and the long-term relationship.
  • Design-minded. You have a strong visual instinct and can confidently pull together furnishings, products, and ideas into something that feels considered and cohesive.
  • Commercially aware. You understand that excellent client service and business development aren’t separate things. You can identify opportunities, make recommendations, and help turn strong relationships into meaningful work.
  • Exceptionally organized. You can manage a high volume of conversations, proposals, details, and deadlines without losing the thread.
  • A strong communicator. Your communication is polished, warm, direct, and responsive. You’re comfortable communicating with everyone from an event planner to an executive stakeholder.
  • Resourceful. When something is unclear, your instinct is to investigate, solve, and propose a path forward—not simply pass the question along.
  • Motivated. You enjoy having meaningful ownership and are energized by building something, improving how things work, and seeing your efforts translate into results.

Experience

We’re looking for someone who has already developed the professional judgment, client presence, and independence to take meaningful ownership of relationships and opportunities.

Relevant experience may come from event planning, experiential marketing, hospitality, account management, business development, interior or event design, or another highly client-facing creative industry.

More important than a specific background is evidence that you’ve successfully managed sophisticated client relationships, worked independently, and turned broad or ambiguous direction into a strong finished recommendation.

Who You’ll Report To

Client Services Director

What to Know

This is a full-time role that generally averages approximately 45–55 hours per week, with the rhythm of the work shifting alongside the seasonality of events and active projects.

We’re looking for someone who approaches the role with ownership rather than a clock-in, clock-out mentality. There will be periods that require flexibility around client needs, events, and deadlines, balanced by periods with a more predictable rhythm. The expectation is not constant availability, but a willingness to take responsibility for your work and see important things through.

While much of the day-to-day work can be done remotely, Atlanta, GA is strongly preferred. Mayker works frequently throughout Atlanta and surrounding Southeast markets, and this person will play an active role in strengthening our relationships and presence in the region.

Approximately 20–25% of the role may involve in-person client meetings, walkthroughs, networking opportunities, industry events, or occasional project installations.
