Marquee Arts is seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Director of Venue Operations to lead and run a high-performing, financially disciplined operation while delivering an exceptional experience for patrons and artists.
The Director of Venue Operations is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and execution of all operational functions across Marquee Arts' venues. This individual is an experienced venue operator and live entertainment professional with a proven ability to run a high-performing, financially disciplined operation while delivering an exceptional experience for patrons and artists.
A critical component of this role is developing and growing Marquee Arts' live performance programming. The Director will bring deep knowledge of the live entertainment industry, talent buying, artist routing, deal structures, and season development, and will be responsible for identifying, procuring, negotiating, and booking a compelling and financially sustainable season of live performances for the Michigan Theater Main Auditorium and the Smokler Stage.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has supervisory responsibility of the Theater Managers, Events Managers and Box Office.
Work Environment The work is primarily indoors within a theater building(s) and may have some exposure to fumes, odor, dust, etc. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This role requires walking and standing for extended periods of time. This role also regularly requires reaching, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing stairs. Extended computer use is required. The employee will regularly lift, push, pull and/or move items that weigh up to 50 pounds.
