Maretta is hiring a Sous Chef

Maretta is a neighborhood restaurant in the East Village with a kitchen rooted in Northern Italian cooking.

We’re entering a new season with a focused, frequently changing menu centered around fresh pasta made in house, seasonal small plates, carefully sourced ingredients, and simple, thoughtful cooking.

We’re looking for a strong Sous Chef to work closely with our Head Chef and help lead a small, hands-on kitchen.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong restaurant kitchen experience
• Experience with fresh pasta highly preferred
• Solid fundamentals and attention to detail
• Comfortable working with a seasonal, evolving menu
• Organized, clean, and consistent
• Able to lead prep and service and maintain standards
• Positive attitude and comfortable working with a small team
• Genuine interest in the cooking of Northern Italy and Southern France

The menu is intentionally tight and changes with the seasons, with an emphasis on making everything possible in house.

We’re looking for someone who wants to contribute creatively, grow with the restaurant, and be part of the next chapter of Maretta.
