Maintenance Supervisor (1st Shift) – Food Manufacturing

Position Type: Direct Hire / Full-Time

Location: Greater Boston / Merrimack Valley Area (North Andover, MA)

Shift: 1st Shift | Monday – Friday (Flexible start time: 6:00 AM or 7:00 AM)

Compensation: $120,000 – $125,000 / year (Paid Weekly)

Bonuses: 4% Annual Target Bonus + $1,000 Holiday Bonus + Annual Merit Increases

About the Opportunity

We are recruiting for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead 1st-shift maintenance operations for an established, industry-leading commercial food manufacturer in the Boston area. In business for over 80 years, the company produces both mixtures/batter and finished baked goods with National distribution.

Operating out of a modern, climate-controlled facility featuring continuous investments in updated production technology, you will lead a dedicated team of 7–8 technicians on 1st shift. This is a non-union environment ideal for a high-visibility, technical leader who enjoys working on the floor alongside their crew.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Supervise, schedule, and mentor 7–8 maintenance technicians on 1st shift to maximize machine uptime and promote floor safety.
• Hands-On Troubleshooting: Provide active, hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting support on production, processing, and packaging lines.
• Preventative Maintenance: Oversee PM execution, work order prioritization, and emergency repairs to minimize line downtime.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with production leadership to coordinate maintenance windows and facilitate equipment installations/upgrades.
• Safety & Standards: Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and food industry standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF).

Position Requirements

• Leadership Experience: Prior experience supervising or leading teams of 5–15 technicians in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Hands-On Background: 3–5+ years of direct, hands-on electrical and mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
• Floor Presence: Strong willingness to be hands-on on the shop floor alongside technicians.

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• PLC troubleshooting experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.)
• Ammonia refrigeration experience
• Industrial welding/fabrication experience
• Experience in food processing, commercial baking, or consumer packaged goods (CPG)

Equipment Overview

• Equipment Handled: Industrial mixers, mixing machines, processing lines, automated packaging machines, overwrap machines, robotic/automated palletizers, conveyors, inline metal detectors, and subzero commercial freezers.

Comprehensive Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Frequency: Paid Weekly
• Base Salary: $120,000 – $125,000 / year
• Bonus Program: 4% Annual Target Bonus + $1,000 Guaranteed Holiday Bonus + Annual Merit Reviews (Prorated Year 1)
