Job description
We are seeking an experienced Middleware Engineer to support and maintain enterprise middleware platforms in a large-scale production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM MQ, Kafka, OpenShift, WebSphere, Tomcat, and API technologies, along with experience supporting cloud-based integrations.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Middleware Administration/Engineering.
- Hands-on experience with:
- IBM MQ
- Kafka
- OpenShift
- IBM WebSphere
- Apache Tomcat
- IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE/IIB)
- IBM DataPower & API Connect (APIC)
- Experience with Java, Python, Node.js, or SQL.
- Experience supporting both On-Prem and Cloud environments (Azure preferred).
- Knowledge of Distributed Systems, Networking, Storage, and Databases.
- Strong troubleshooting and production support experience.
- Familiarity with DevOps principles, automation, and infrastructure configuration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer, deploy, configure, monitor, and optimize enterprise middleware platforms.
- Provide production support and resolve complex middleware issues.
- Support IBM MQ, Kafka, OpenShift, WebSphere, Tomcat, API Connect, and DataPower environments.
- Work closely with application development teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
- Perform middleware installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor system performance and recommend capacity improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in cloud integration initiatives and infrastructure automation.
- Support internal projects and ensure high availability of middleware services.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Experience with Azure cloud services.
- Experience with DevOps tools and automation frameworks.
- Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
