Description
Mendocino Community Health Clinic (MCHC) is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organization in delivering high-quality, accessible healthcare to our communities. The CEO serves as the Executive Director of MCHC and, in partnership with the Board of Directors, is responsible for the overall success, sustainability, and strategic direction of the organization. Together, the CEO and Board ensure MCHC's continued relevance, impact, and accountability to the communities we serve.
The CEO also serves as the HRSA Project Director and is responsible for overseeing daily operations, organizational performance, and long-term strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with the Board to define and advance MCHC's mission, vision, values, and strategic goalsย
- Ensure organizational effectiveness, sustainability, and community impactย
- Provide regular updates to the Board on operations, challenges, and opportunitiesย
- Support the Board in governance, policy development, and strategic planningย
Operations & Program Oversight
- Provide overall leadership and oversight of all MCHC programs and servicesย
- Ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality operations across the organizationย
- Develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures that ensure quality improvement and support organizational excellenceย
Financial & Administrative Management
- Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processesย
- Partner with the Board to secure financial sustainability and growthย
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and funding requirementsย
- Recommend and implement appropriate staffing and resource allocationย
People & Culture
- Foster a positive, inclusive workplace that attracts and retains high-quality staffย
- Lead recruitment, development, and performance management of leadership teamย
- Build strong teams and promote a culture aligned with MCHC's mission and valuesย
Community Engagement & Advocacy
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for MCHCย
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and policymakersย
- Advocate for policies that support community health and address local needsย
- Promote awareness of MCHC services and community impact

Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred)
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior management position (15+ years preferred)
- Experience in healthcare, community health, or nonprofit leadership strongly preferredย
