Position Overview
The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for reviewing and verifying motor carriers to ensure they meet company compliance requirements before and during their relationship with the company.
This position focuses heavily on carrier verification, identifying discrepancies, reviewing documentation, and recognizing potential compliance or fraud concerns.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify carrier information and documentation.
- Conduct carrier verification and vetting prior to approval.
- Compare information from multiple sources to identify inconsistencies or discrepancies.
- Review carrier operating information, ownership information, insurance, and other required records.
- Identify potential red flags related to carrier identity, documentation, operating history, or other compliance concerns.
- Review supporting documentation and submitted materials for accuracy and consistency.
- Investigate discrepancies and determine when additional verification is necessary.
- Communicate with carrier sales team when additional information or documentation is required.
- Document compliance findings and maintain accurate carrier compliance records.
- Escalate carriers or situations that do not meet compliance requirements or require further review.
- Perform ongoing carrier compliance reviews when necessary.
- Ensure established carrier compliance requirements are consistently followed.
- Assist in identifying potential fraudulent or suspicious carrier activity.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in freight, transportation, carrier operations, or carrier compliance preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
- Comfortable researching and verifying information.
- Strong judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to recognize potential compliance and fraud concerns.
- Ability to communicate professionally with carriers.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple carrier reviews.
