Job description

Position Title: Nursing Home Administrator (HFA, LNHA)
Reports To: Regional Director of Operations / Executive Leadership
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

The Nursing Home Administrator (HFA, LNHA) is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the facility, ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance in all areas of operation. This role provides oversight and guidance to financial management, human resources, clinical operations, business development, and customer service functions. The Administrator ensures the implementation of policies and procedures aligned with company goals, legal requirements, and industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct all operations of the facility in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and company policies.
  • Lead and develop department heads and staff to maintain high standards of resident care and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue generation.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, staff, and the community to promote a positive image and culture.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between clinical, administrative, and support departments.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives and quality improvement plans.
  • Oversee facility maintenance and safety to ensure a secure and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, best practices, and innovations in care delivery.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Active and unrestricted Nursing Home Administrator license (HFA, LNHA) in the state of practice.
  • Must maintain licensure in good standing throughout employment.

Specific Job Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and act on financial records and reports.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to act independently when needed.
  • In-depth knowledge of post-acute care facility regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to implement and evaluate departmental programs, policies, goals, and objectives.
  • Proficient in core competencies including leadership, staff supervision, financial oversight, regulatory compliance, resident rights, and safety/sanitation.
  • Maintains positive and professional relationships with staff, residents, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Upholds confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information at all times.
  • Adheres to company policies, including compliance and harassment procedures.
  • Demonstrates integrity and professionalism, completing all required Code of Conduct and compliance training.
