Job Summary
Logos Technologies is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer to support ongoing technology development efforts at our Fairfax, VA office. This role will contribute to ISR sensor design, high-powered laser systems, and unmanned aerial vehicle integration. In this role you will: provide knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and procedures; apply mechanical engineering principles and concepts; and draw solutions from both formal training and experience.
Responsibilities
  • Assist in the conceptual development and design of various systems from project proposal throughout kickoff
  • Develop products from conceptual theories to deployable products
  • Work with and manage a broad set of subcontractors for component and subassembly manufacture
  • Assist in the creation and management of project deliverables, including, but not limited to detailed project plans, project schedules, resource plans, risk assessment/issue tracking, and status reports for customer and Logos management.
  • Partner closely with Logos management and technical leads on technical direction and approach relating to project planning and execution.
  • Experience packaging optical and electrical assemblies
  • Familiarity with surveillance/reconnaissance systems
  • Machine shop and/or Additive Manufacturing experience
  • Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with only general direction,
  • Ability to independently determine and develop approaches to solutions.
  • Be a self-starter with ability to perform duties with minimal management and oversight.
  • Ability to function equally effectively as a team member on a group project or unmanaged on an individual effort

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 2-4 years of experience or a Master's degree and 0-2 years of experience
  • Understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, and other design and modeling tools.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing.
  • Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • U.S. citizenship
