Job description
Job Title: Residential Oil & Air Conditioning Service Technician
Location: Putnam Valley, NY
Pay: $45.00 per hour + On-Call Compensation + Sales Incentives

The Opportunity
We are a local, independent oil company that has recently expanded, and we are looking for an experienced Residential Oil & Air Conditioning Service Technician to join our growing team.
We are not looking for an entry-level technician. Industry experience and a strong working knowledge of residential oil-fired heating systems and central air-conditioning systems are a must.
Your Role
• Diagnose, service, and repair residential oil-fired boilers, furnaces, and related heating equipment.
• Diagnose, service, and repair residential central air-conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and annual tune-ups.
• Troubleshoot heating and cooling issues accurately and efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding recommended repairs and system needs.
• Identify opportunities for HVAC equipment replacements, necessary service work, and larger accessories.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and complete all required paperwork.
On-Call Requirement
Nighttime on-call coverage every other week during the winter heating season is required.
Additional weekly compensation is provided for being on call, along with separate compensation for each after-hours service call completed.
Additional Earning Opportunities
Technicians can earn additional spiffs for:
• HVAC equipment leads that result in a sale.
• Additional service work sold.
• Larger accessories sold.
What We’re Looking For
• Residential oil-fired boiler and furnace service experience.
• Residential air-conditioning service experience.
• HVAC, water heater, and oil tank installation knowledge is a must.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Professional communication and customer-service skills.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Dependability, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Compensation & Benefits
• $45.00 per hour.
