Work Environment

This position will be performed onsite at our state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in Allentown, offering a spacious and well-equipped environment to carry out therapy sessions. Our interdisciplinary approach ensures you will work closely with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to create tailored treatment plans that address each patient's unique needs. The typical work week consists of Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional flexibility for evening or weekend sessions for patients who require alternative scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning, establishing individualized treatment plans based on their specific limitations and goals.
• Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions designed to improve patients' daily living skills, fine and gross motor skills, and overall quality of life.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to define meaningful short-term and long-term goals, ensuring their active participation in the therapeutic process.
• Design personalized therapeutic activities and exercises aimed at improving coordination, strength, balance, and endurance.
• Introduce adaptive equipment and assistive technologies to promote independence in activities of daily living.
• Provide education and training to patients and their families on pain management techniques, energy conservation methods, and strategies to prevent disability progression.
• Document treatment plans, patient progress, and outcomes accurately and timely, adhering to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
• Engage in interdisciplinary team meetings to ensure cohesive patient care among all healthcare providers.
• Stay updated on emerging practices in occupational therapy by participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards, upholding patient confidentiality and advocating for their rights.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will involve working with a diverse patient population, including individuals recovering from surgeries, strokes, and various physical or cognitive impairments. You will collaborate with both pediatric and geriatric patients, enabling them to achieve their therapy goals. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required. Candidates with a Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy will be considered strongly preferred.
• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Pennsylvania is mandatory.
• Active certification in CPR is required.
• Relevant experience in a rehabilitation or healthcare setting is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy methodologies, assessments, and tools.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, facilitating collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively while managing a diverse caseload.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and documentation practices.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in providing therapy to a variety of populations, including neurorehabilitation or pediatric therapy, is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in custom-tailoring treatment plans and therapeutic activities for individualized patient care.
• Previous involvement in innovative rehabilitation programs or research initiatives is desirable.

Compensation and Benefits
