Relief Emergency Veterinarian

A well-established emergency veterinary hospital in Southern California is seeking relief veterinarians to assist with upcoming emergency shifts.

This is a flexible relief opportunity with no long-term commitment required. Doctors can pick up shifts based on their availability and the hospital’s scheduling needs.

Shift Opportunities

• Flexible scheduling with primarily weekend opportunities
• Weekday overnight shifts may also be available
• Weekend shifts include 12-hour day and evening shifts
• Additional daytime opportunities are expected to become available as the hospital expands its operating hours
• Relief doctors may choose the shifts that best fit their availability

What to Expect

• Approximately 15–20 primary emergency cases per shift, depending on caseload
• Management of hospitalized patients in addition to primary cases
• Strong support from experienced RVTs and veterinary assistants
• Dedicated client-care staff who assist with estimates, treatment plan discussions, client communication, and discharges
• Well-equipped emergency facility with digital radiology, ultrasound, in-house laboratory capabilities, oxygen therapy, and a fully equipped surgical suite
• Variety of emergency medical and surgical cases

Surgery

Relief veterinarians should be comfortable managing emergency cases and performing surgery within their experience and comfort level. Surgical opportunities are available for doctors who enjoy emergency surgery.
