What You'll Do- Establish a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that fosters children's social, emotional, and cognitive growth
- Develop and implement play-based curriculum that aligns with a nature-focused philosophy, meeting the unique needs of each child
- Engage children in hands-on, outdoor learning experiences, incorporating exploration and nature play as weather permits
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, indoors and outdoors, adhering to health and safety standards
- Observe, document, and support children's development, providing individualized support as needed
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and team members, promoting a sense of community and connection
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistent routines, facilitate smooth classroom flow, and support children's growth
- Model respectful, patient, and responsive interactions with children, demonstrating a growth mindset and empathy
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and outdoor learning space, preparing materials and ensuring a safe environment for all
- Adhere to center policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures, upholding the highest standards of quality care
- Communicate effectively with families regarding daily activities, milestones, and concerns, keeping them informed and involved
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date on best practices and industry developments
Requirements- CPR and AED Training (required or must be obtained upon hire).
- Either an ECE Associate’s Degree or completion of the state-required Early Childhood Foundational Trainings.
- Experience working with children in an early childhood setting is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to different age groups, routines, and teaching styles is a must.
- Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a commitment to teamwork are essential.
- Willingness to support nature-based, play-centered learning approaches is a requirement.
Nice To Haves- Early Childhood Education background or prior experience is a plus.
- A passion for the outdoors and comfort working in various weather conditions is a bonus.
- Coursework or experience in environmental sciences or nature-based learning is highly valued.
- Training in Conscious Discipline or other social–emotional learning frameworks is a great asset.
- Familiarity with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) is an added advantage.
- Completion of Pyramid Model training or experience implementing Pyramid Model practices is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infant or early childhood mental health principles is a valuable asset.
- Experience supporting inclusive classrooms or working with diverse learning needs is a plus.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a passion for play-based learning are highly valued.
