Job description

This role is for Sunsets, our dinner program. While La Cantine is open 7 days a week as a luncheonette serving breakfast and lunch, the restaurant turns into a bistrot and wine bar Thursday through Monday. This line cook job is for our dinner program.
We are looking for team players to join our amazing night crew!
Night time line cook responsibilities include but are not be limited to:
- prep shift
- line shift
- closing shift
- working the line, hot & cold stations
- expediting
- working prep shifts (receiving, walk in & low boy organization, fifo, consolidating, choping, slicing, baking, roasting, processing foods to meet all mise requirements based on recipes given)
- dishwashing (we have a dishwasher during dinner service but if one calls out sick, staff takes turns)
- taking out the trash on trash days & bringing empty trash cans the day after (we have a rotating schedule)
- lifting up to 60lb boxes during delivery if needed
- following DOH requirement (hair cover, washing hands, wearing gloves, DOH labels, FIFO, sanitation buckets, cleaning up, cross contamination awareness & all food safety understanding)
- sling communication: all communication unless emergency goes through an app called Sling, employees are required to download the free app and messages must be checked while on the clock.
- reporting directly to the owner/chef, head chef & sous chef, and to the lead line cook if only manager on duty.
This role is full time 5 days a week, 40h, no overtime thursday through monday with Tue & Wednesday off
Staff meal is off the clock 5:15PM to 5:45PM, food is free.
We are closed for Christmas, july 4th, NYE, thanksgiving
