Job description

Lead Training. Develop Workforce Capability. Support Safe & Reliable Operations.

GP Strategies is seeking an experienced LNG Training Manager to serve as our lead training resource supporting operations at the Golden Pass LNG facility. This position combines training leadership, client partnership, workforce qualification, and instructional expertise to ensure personnel are trained, assessed, and prepared to operate safely and effectively in a complex LNG environment.

As the primary point of contact on-site, you will work closely with client stakeholders to identify training needs, support workforce readiness initiatives, deliver training, assess qualifications, and maintain training materials. This is a highly visible role that directly impacts operational excellence, safety, and employee performance.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary GP Strategies representative supporting training activities at the Golden Pass facility.
  • Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders and act as the day-to-day liaison for training and workforce qualification activities.
  • Gather work requirements, communicate project status, and ensure successful execution of training deliverables.
  • Deliver instructor-led training and facilitate learning programs for operations personnel.
  • Conduct personnel assessments and qualification evaluations to verify workforce readiness and competency.
  • Develop, update, and maintain training materials, qualification guides, and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate and assign work to other team members when required, monitoring progress and ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Support workforce development initiatives aligned with operational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve training effectiveness, qualification processes, and employee performance.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and communications related to training activities.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 5+ years of experience in Natural Gas and/or LNG operations
  • 2+ years of experience as a Control Room Operator in an LNG facility, power plant, or similar process environment
  • Previous experience in training, workforce qualification, operations readiness, or personnel assessment
  • Strong understanding of plant operations, process systems, and operational procedures
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently while serving as a trusted advisor to client leadership
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment
  • Must reside in or be able to support the Houston, Beaumont, or West Louisiana region

Preferred:

  • Project management experience
  • Maintenance background in Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E), Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines
  • Experience supporting operations training programs in LNG or energy environments

Work Environment

  • Hybrid position with a combination of remote and on-site work
  • Some periods may require full-time on-site presence (5 days per week) based on operational and training needs
  • Occasional shift work may be required to support training and qualification activities across workforce schedules
  • Full-time position with immediate opportunity to contribute

Why This Role Matters

This role plays a critical part in ensuring operational personnel are trained, qualified, and prepared to perform safely and effectively in one of the industry's most demanding environments. Your expertise will directly influence workforce capability, operational readiness, and the long-term success of the facility. If you're passionate about LNG operations, developing people, and serving as a trusted partner to plant leadership, this is an opportunity to make a significant impact.
