Job description

LECOM Health is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Gastroenterologist to join our growing medical staff. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a collaborative, integrated health system serving patients throughout the region. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services
Position highlights include a comprehensive GI practice spanning inpatient and outpatient care, the opportunity to perform a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, access to hospital-based endoscopy resources, a strong referral base and established patient population, a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, opportunities for teaching and medical education involvement, and competitive compensation with a comprehensive benefits package.
**Job Responsibilities**
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions
- Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including EGD and colonoscopy
- Perform advanced endoscopic procedures consistent with training, experience, and privileges
- Participate in and help expand an advanced endoscopy program, including ERCP
- Collaborate with surgeons, hospitalists, primary care providers, and other specialists in managing complex patients
- Participate in hospital consultation and call responsibilities as assigned
- Provide timely documentation, communication, and follow-up for patients
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical initiatives
- Contribute to the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners as appropriate
**Qualifications**
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology
- Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania
- Eligible for hospital and procedural privileges
- ERCP training and experience preferred
**Working Hours**
Full-time position combining outpatient clinic days with inpatient consultations and scheduled endoscopy/procedure blocks, plus participation in a shared hospital call rotation as assigned.
**Skills**
- Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (EGD, colonoscopy); ERCP experience a plus
- Broad-based management of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disease
- Strong clinical judgment across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Commitment to high-quality, compassionate, patient-centered care
- Interest in teaching, mentorship, and medical education
