About the Role

L&T Construction, Inc. is seeking motivated entry-level professionals to join our team as a Field Engineer / Project Engineer. This position supports active construction projects throughout the Memphis metro area and Mid-South region and offers hands-on experience in both field operations and project engineering support.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career candidates who want to build a long-term career in construction, civil work, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with project layout, line and grade control, and field coordination
• Support daily field operations to help ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
• Review drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, project logs, and other construction documentation
• Help prepare Daily Construction Reports and maintain project records
• Support quality control efforts and verify work is installed within project tolerances
• Assist with project closeout documentation and as-built records
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
• Help enforce company safety standards and support site safety compliance
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of successful project delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant coursework, in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 0–2 years of experience in construction, civil work, engineering support, or related industry preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced construction environment
• Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
• Basic understanding of scheduling software is a plus

Work Environment

This role may include both office and field responsibilities depending on project assignment. Candidates should be comfortable working on active construction sites and in project office settings. Field conditions may include exposure to weather, heavy equipment, noise, dust, and uneven terrain.
