Job Title: Aftercare Team Member
Reports to: Aftercare Manager
Status: Full time, non-exempt
Job Description:
The Aftercare Program at KARM helps participants embrace life outside of KARM. The Aftercare Team Member is tasked with helping the participant understand how to locate and use resources within the community. The primary focus is on developing a relationship with the participant and offering guidance as the participant continues to define themselves as a member of the community. The Aftercare Team Member also helps establish healthy working relationships with Aftercare volunteers, community resource agencies, social groups, and public servants.
What you’ll do (just the basics):
- Connect with volunteers and participants regularly by phone, text, and/or in-person visits at mutually agreed upon venues in the community.
- Engage participants and volunteers to establish trust, build a relationship, and help motivate them to continue following through with the Aftercare Agreement
- Communicate with the Aftercare Coordinator any issues observed, along with stories of success.
- Encourage and support the participant as he/she navigates life challenges which necessitate seeking assistance from community resources, engage with social or service organizations, and/or develop educational, financial, health care, or legal partnerships
- Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:- BS in related field (psychology, social work, counseling, ministry) or equivalent education and experience
- Experience serving those who have encountered seasons of homelessness preferred.
- You’re proficient at MS Office
Working Conditions:
- Office Setting
- Ministry campus facility where emergency rescue services are provided.
- Exposure to stressful client situations requiring compassion and discernment
- Walking, standing, sitting, bending, and minimal lifting required
- Some local travel may be required for various purposes
- Attendance at meetings and occasional special events, sometimes during the weekend or evening hours
