Job description

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC/R systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV boxes, and building automation/controls systems
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on commercial equipment per manufacturer specs and service agreements
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant circuit issues using test equipment and diagnostic tools
  • Install new commercial HVAC systems and retrofit or upgrade existing equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
  • Respond to emergency service calls, including rotating on-call shifts
  • Accurately complete service tickets, time logs, and parts/material records
  • Communicate directly with customers and facility managers regarding system status, repairs, and recommendations
  • Maintain compliance with EPA refrigerant handling regulations and OSHA safety standards
  • Keep service vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and in good working order

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC/R experience (light-commercial and heavy-commercial equipment)
  • EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, and building automation systems (BAS) a plus
  • Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Sharp troubleshooting instincts and a problem-solver's mindset
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • NATE certification preferred
  • High school diploma or GED; HVAC trade school or equivalent apprenticeship experience
