Work Environment

This role is fully remote, allowing you to work from any location that is convenient for you, with the flexibility to choose your working hours. Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Mental Health Counselor, your primary duties will include:

• Conducting individual therapy sessions via video chat according to a schedule that works for both you and your clients.
• Facilitating open discussions that encourage clients to express emotions and share life experiences in a safe space.
• Assisting clients in identifying, setting, and achieving their therapeutic goals, providing personalized strategies tailored to their needs.
• Monitoring clients' progress throughout their treatment plans and adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure effective recovery.
• Advising clients on healthy coping mechanisms to help them manage stress and challenges they may encounter.
• Intervening when necessary to identify behaviors that may impede recovery, with an emphasis on prevention and proactive care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your practice will serve a diverse clientele, with an emphasis on stable adults experiencing low acuity issues. All clients are rigorously screened to ensure they are ready for engagement in the telehealth format. This screening process helps minimize risk and supports a healthier therapeutic relationship, enabling you to focus on delivering quality care without unnecessary distractions.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

• A Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
• A valid, unrestricted license to practice independently in your state of residence as one of the following: Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist.

Please note that provisional or limited licenses are not accepted. Candidates should demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills, possess a compassionate nature, and have a solid grasp of mental health practices. Proficiency in using computers and telehealth tools is also essential.

Preferred Experience

Experience in teletherapy or a willingness to adapt traditional counseling skills to the telehealth environment is preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems and various therapeutic modalities will be viewed favorably.
