Role Description This temporary/contract remote role for a Military Cultural Advisor involves providing expert guidance on military culture, customs, and operational environments. The advisor will interpret and explain military structures, protocols, and communication styles to help clients design effective programs, policies, and engagements. Day-to-day tasks include researching military practices, contributing to training materials, advising project teams on cultural considerations, and participating in virtual meetings and briefings. The role also includes reviewing plans and communications for cultural relevance, supporting scenario development for training exercises, and preparing clear written analyses and recommendations. Collaboration with internal teams and client stakeholders is essential, while maintaining confidentiality and adherence to applicable regulations and professional standards.

This role specifically ia a project related to veteran suicide.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong experience with Military Operations and Defense to provide accurate, informed cultural insight.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Training design and delivery, including the ability to develop and present culturally focused curricula.
  • Candidates should possess background in Command and Army structures to interpret hierarchies, roles, and decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated experience working within or alongside military organizations, with deep understanding of military lifestyle, values, and terminology.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into accessible guidance.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in advisory, consulting, or instructional roles is beneficial; prior service in the armed forces or equivalent exposure is a strong asset.
  • Relevant education or professional training in security studies, international relations, sociology, or related fields is preferred.
