Part-Time Shop Laborer (Summer Position)
Jim's Sign Shop – Fallbrook, CA

Jim's Sign Shop is looking for a reliable part-time shop laborer to help keep projects moving through production during our busy summer season.

This position is ideal for someone who lives in the Fallbrook, Bonsall, or Rainbow area and wants hands-on experience in a creative fabrication environment. We are specifically looking for local applicants and are not interested in candidates seeking a long commute.

What You'll Do

This is a general labor position that supports our production team with a variety of tasks, including:

• Sanding and surface preparation
• Painting and finishing work
• Shop cleaning and organization
• Material handling
• Assisting with sign fabrication projects
• Miscellaneous tasks that help keep jobs moving through the shop

Some days will be repetitive, while others may involve assisting with unique custom projects, art installations, or sign-making work.

Schedule & Pay

• Part-time temporary summer position
• 16–40 hours per week depending on workload
• Schedule may vary from week to week
• Minimum wage
• Paid every Friday
• Position expected to begin within the next few weeks

While not required, flexibility is appreciated. Occasionally we may have opportunities for additional hours or need help on short notice.

• Can jump into tasks with minimal supervision
• Is dependable and shows up ready to work
• Has basic familiarity with woodworking tools and shop equipment
• Pays attention to detail
• Is interested in fabrication, art installations, construction, or sign making
• Is comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes changing environment
• Works well with others and maintains a positive attitude

Bonus Skills

The following are not required but may lead to additional opportunities:

• Graphic design experience
• Experience with sign making or fabrication
• Carpentry or woodworking experience
• Artistic or creative background

Future Opportunities

This is currently a temporary summer position. However, exceptional candidates may be offered continued employment if business needs and skills are a good match.
