About Jazba:
Jazba is a vibrant, high-energy Indian restaurant in the East Village celebrating the diverse flavors, regions, and traditions of India through bold cooking, modern technique, and seasonal NYC ingredients. We are a chef-driven, fast-paced kitchen focused on precision, consistency, and creativity. Our team values respect, curiosity, and a commitment to growth. Our sister restaurant is Junoon Restaurant.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Line Cook who is organized, motivated, and passionate about cooking. The ideal candidate works clean, communicates well, and thrives in a busy kitchen environment. You will work closely with the Chef to execute dishes with consistency and uphold Jazba’s culinary standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute dishes during service with accuracy, urgency, and attention to detail

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient station at all times

  • Perform prep work following standardized recipes

  • Assist in receiving, labeling, and storing ingredients properly

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and communicate during service

  • Contribute to a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture

Requirements:

  • 1 year NYC kitchen experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate

  • Strong knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • Excellent attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Interest in Indian cuisine or global flavors is a plus—not required.
