Job description

Aquacut Foam (div Jacobs & Thompson Inc.) is seeking a motivated Project Engineer - Packaging - to join our growing Engineering team. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in design, manufacturing, customer support, quoting, and project management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work with customers and sales representatives to develop packaging designs, quotations, and samples. 

  • Finalize product designs and support prototype fabrication and production launch activities. 

  • Create and maintain CAD drawings, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation. 

  • Develop designs using SolidWorks and other CAD software. 

  • Validate product costing and prepare customer quotations. 

  • Review customer purchase orders and verify pricing. 

  • Create material requisitions and production documentation packages. 

  • Support production teams by communicating customer requirements and coordinating customer-supplied materials. 

  • Review and approve first-off samples before production. 

  • Obtain quotes from suppliers for raw materials, tooling, dies, and purchased components. 

  • Serve as the primary customer contact through assigned projects. 

  • Identify project risks and help ensure projects are completed on time and within scope. 

  • Participate in process improvement, cost reduction, and quality improvement initiatives. 

  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions when required. 

  • Maintain BOMs, revision control, and project records. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Packaging, or related Engineering preferred, not required. 

  • SolidWorks Certification (CSWA or CSWP) preferred, not required. 

  • Strong CAD and technical drawing skills. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. 

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Manufacturing, co-op, or internship experience is considered an asset. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
