JTS Build & Design

Superintendent

Location: Chatham, NJ

Lead the Jobsite. Protect the Standard.

JTS Build & Design is a Northern New Jersey residential builder known for elegant homes, warm natural materials, and a modern design approach tailored to families. The company is growing and looking for field leaders who care about craftsmanship, safety, and doing things right.

JTS Build & Design is looking for a Superintendent to take ownership of daily field execution across active residential jobsites. This person will be the on-site leader responsible for quality control, safety enforcement, subcontractor coordination, material awareness, and keeping each project on track. The ideal candidate is firm but professional, detail-oriented, hands-on, and able to solve problems in real time. This role is especially well-suited for someone who knows how to lead from the front and can step in personally when something urgent needs to be fixed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day field operations on residential projects
  • Coordinate with contractors to keep work progressing according to schedule and quality standards
  • Enforce safety standards, including fall protection and jobsite rules
  • Inspect work in progress to catch issues early
  • Ensure jobsites stay clean, organized, and ready for each trade
  • Track tools, leftover materials, and supply usage to reduce waste
  • Verify what materials are on hand before making purchases
  • Attend inspections and remain on site/involved until the final seal is obtained
  • Experience handling permitting processes and coordinating required documentation/approvals
  • Communicate daily job site updates, photos, and reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders
  • Anticipate weather and site conditions and protect work accordingly
  • Prevent unauthorized site access and maintain site security
  • Support punch-list completion and final quality readiness
  • Jump in hands-on when critical field tasks require immediate action

Qualifications:

  • Superintendent, foreman, or lead field management experience in residential construction
  • Solid understanding of new construction processes
  • Ability to read the jobsite, anticipate next steps, and prevent problems
  • Strong leadership and accountability with subcontractors and crews
  • Comfortable being hands-on when needed
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Authorized to work legally in the U.S.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus for communicating with crews
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and good judgment
  • Ability to work a full-time schedule (Monday-Friday, with occasional Saturdays)

Pay and Benefits:

  • Full-Time, W-2 employment
  • Estimated pay range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Potential bonus tied to project performance and quality
  • Workers' compensation coverage
  • Opportunity to grow with an expanding residential builder

Why JTS Build & Design:

At JTS Build & Design, the work is personal. The company is built around thoughtful homes, close client relationships, and a high standard for how projects are run in the field. This is a strong fit for someone who wants more ownership, more trust, and more influence over the finished product. You will be joining a growing company where leadership is visible, quality matters, and the right person can help shape the next stage of growth.
