Senior Residential Designer – Chicago Suburbs (Full-Time, In-Office)

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Designer to lead high-end residential design projects from concept through installation. This role is client-facing, highly collaborative, and requires strong design, sales ability, project management, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead residential design projects and serve as main client contact

Collaborate with internal design team, project managers, and external architects/contractors

Responsible for the sales process and client presentations to secure new projects

Develop drawings, selections, proposals, and documentation throughout all project phases

Manage client communication and ensure timely delivery of project information

Requirements:

5–10 years' experience in interior design

Degree in Interior Design or Architecture; certifications preferred

Advanced proficiency in: AutoCAD, Chief Architect and/or Sketch-up, Microsoft Office; project management software preferred

Strong client communication, organization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills

Professional, proactive, detail-oriented, and team-focused

Must be flexible, resourceful and comfortable working in a very fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary + commission ($75,000 - $110,000/year)

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8:30–5:00, with some after-hours as needed
