The Diesel and Equipment Mechanic plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks, compressors, and other equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This position involves a hands-on approach to diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing preventive maintenance in a dynamic work environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the mechanic will support the organization's mechanical and equipment reliability goals.
Responsibilities
- Perform diesel engine repair on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on compressors and related equipment
- Execute diagnostic testing to identify mechanical and electrical issues
- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems to ensure proper functionality
- Replace worn or damaged parts promptly to minimize equipment downtime
- Troubleshoot electrical systems for faults and malfunctions
- Utilize mechanical aptitude to resolve complex equipment problems
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in diesel and equipment mechanics
- Technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Expertise in diesel engine repair and hydraulic system maintenance
- Skilled in electrical system troubleshooting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management abilities
