Summary/Objective

The Outside Loan Originator provides residential mortgage loans to borrowers looking to purchase real estate or refinance an existing mortgage and generates leads to increase production. An Outside Loan Originator works greater than 50% of the time away from the office.

Essential Duties
  • Engage in the sale of mortgage loan products and services to residential mortgage customers.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, title companies and other related companies to generate and expand business through the execution of marketing campaigns and promotional events, and host community education seminars for real estate professionals.
  • Identify the creditworthiness of borrowers by examining credit reports, tax returns and assets.
  • Counsel borrowers on appropriate loan programs and educate them on the mortgage loan process; respond to customer questions and concerns.
  • Originate mortgage loans, including pricing and locking pre‑approved loan transactions; disclose Loan Estimates and other necessary documents within required timeframes.
  • Maintain current knowledge of agency and investor guidelines as well as state and federal regulations.
  • Follow up on leads, loan applications, missing items, and conditions, ensuring items are submitted prior to service‑level agreement deadlines.
  • Update borrowers and their agents on the status of loan applications.
  • Oversee the production pipeline and resolve escalated issues to ensure loan transactions close correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Provide superior customer service to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere diligently to all provisions detailed in Exhibit B of the Employment Agreement.
QualificationsRequired Education/Experience
  • High school diploma required.
  • Working knowledge of FannieMae, FreddieMac, FHA, VA, USDA, investor guidelines and state and federal banking laws and regulations, including TRID, TILA, RESPA, HMDA, FCRA, ECOA, SAFEAct, QM, UDAAP and Flood Disaster Protection.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and many years of experience in originating loans preferred.
  • Proficiency in the same regulations and guidelines as above.
Additional Qualifications for Eligibility
  • Additional qualifications for eligibility include an NMLS license.
