Job SummaryThe Associate Attorney role provides significant courtroom exposure through regular court appearances. This position is responsible for reviewing new claims and pleadings, as well as managing a contested litigation caseload. The role offers hands-on experience with court procedures, the litigation process, and internal compliance standards. This position does not require billable hours.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Appear in court a minimum of three (3) days per week
- Review new claims to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal standards
- Review and approve pleadings for filing, including complaints, motions, and related documents
- Draft motions and responses for contested matters as needed
- Argue contested motions and participate in trials and arbitration proceedings
- Manage communication with opposing counsel via phone and written correspondence
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests and oversee counterclaims
Education & Experience- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active license and admission to the applicable state bar (additional state licenses are a plus)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience with case management systems (e.g., Collection Master or similar) preferred

- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including judges, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal teams
- Professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment in all interactions
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
