Position Summary

Infinity Contractors is seeking a motivated Safety Technician I to support the implementation and maintenance of the company's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs. This entry-level position assists with field safety inspections, employee training, incident documentation, and regulatory compliance while working closely with project management and field operations.

The ideal candidate is motivated to learn, possesses strong communication skills, demonstrates attention to detail, and is committed to promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization. This position is designed for individuals beginning a career in construction safety who have at least one year of construction experience and are eager to grow within a fast-paced organization.

Primary Responsibilities

Field Safety Support

  • Conduct basic jobsite safety inspections to identify unsafe conditions and unsafe work practices.

  • Communicate identified hazards to supervisors and assist with implementing corrective actions.

  • Follow up verifying corrective actions have been completed.

  • Monitor employee compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client safety requirements.

  • Observe work activities and promote safe work practices on active construction sites.

Incident Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist with incident, injury, property damage, and near-miss reporting.

  • Gather photographs, witness statements, and supporting documentation.

  • Complete reports accurately and submit documentation within required timelines.

  • Maintain confidentiality of all incident-related information.

Training & Employee Support

  • Assist with new safety hire orientations.

  • Support weekly toolbox talks and safety meetings.

  • Reinforce company safety expectations with field employees.

  • Assist with distributing safety alerts and lessons learned.

Compliance & Administrative Support

  • Utilize computer programs and software proficiently to support safety operations.

  • Enter and maintain accurate data in contractor management systems including:

    • ISNetworld (ISN)

    • Avetta

    • OSHA Logs

    • Company Safety Management Systems

  • Maintain inspection reports, training records, and compliance documentation.

  • Assist with internal audits and client safety requirements.


Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum one (1) year of construction, utility, industrial, or heavy civil experience required.

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to travel to construction projects throughout assigned territories.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.

  • Ability to walk uneven terrain, climb ladders, and work safely around active construction equipment.

  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Recommended Credentials

Preferred certifications include:

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction

  • First Aid / CPR / AED

  • Hazard Communication (HAZCOM)

  • Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST) (when eligibility requirements are met)

  • Certified Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS)

Employees who do not currently possess these certifications may be required to obtain them as part of their professional development.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.

  • Ability to travel frequently to jobsites, including occasional overnight travel when required.
