Position Overview

Imagine Development is seeking a highly skilled Lead Carpenter to join its growing team on the Big Island. This is a key role for an experienced carpenter who takes pride in craftsmanship, accountability, leadership, and getting the job done right without constant supervision. The right person will be capable of reading detailed plan sets, understanding project scope, coordinating workflow in the field, and executing high-quality custom residential work with confidence and professionalism.

This position is ideal for someone who can truly help take operational weight off the owner's plate by leading projects effectively in the field, maintaining strong communication with the team, and helping jobs move forward efficiently day to day. Key Responsibilities

• Execute high-quality carpentry work on custom residential projects
• Read and interpret detailed construction plans and specifications
• Walk projects with leadership to confirm understanding and execute accordingly
• Coordinate workflow, materials, and day-to-day field operations
• Help maintain project schedules and job site accountability
• Communicate proactively with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites
• Identify and solve problems in the field with minimal supervision
• Uphold quality standards and attention to detail throughout all phases of construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of residential carpentry experience required
• Experience with high-end custom homes strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of framing, finish carpentry, and residential construction methods
• Ability to read and understand detailed construction plans independently
• Proven ability to execute projects with minimal supervision
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Reliable, accountable, and consistent work ethic
• Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors and field teams
• High integrity and strong follow-through
• Understanding of or ability to adapt to Hawaii's local culture and working environment
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
