Job Overview

As a Virtual Teacher at Ignite Learning Academy, you will work directly with students to deliver engaging instruction, provide academic support, and foster an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. You will collaborate with families and colleagues to ensure student success and tailor instruction to meet individual learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily live instruction through web-conferencing tools, small group sessions, and one-on-one support.
• Utilize data to assess student progress and provide remediation or acceleration as needed.
• Offer regular office hours for student inquiries, academic support, and enrichment activities.
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to enhance instructional effectiveness.
• Develop and implement personalized learning strategies to accommodate different learning paces and interests.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, participation, and communication with families.
• Lead one virtual club throughout the school year to encourage student engagement beyond academics.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and colleagues to foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Stay current with best practices in online education and instructional technology.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Must physically live in the United States
• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid teacher certification/endorsement (issued by any U.S. state)
• Ability to pass a background check
• Passion for online education and belief in its potential to support diverse learning needs
• Strong ability to tailor instruction to individual student needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to quickly adapt to new learning management systems and online teaching tools
• Availability to work traditional business hours
• Must have childcare for young children in the home during work hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field
• Experience teaching in an online or virtual environment
