Job description

Ippon Martial Arts is Hiring!

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Judo Instructor to join our team. We’re looking for someone who loves judo, enjoys working with children, and can create a positive, disciplined, and encouraging environment for students of all ages.

Position Details

  • Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Weekday hours: Primarily evenings, approximately 4:00–9:00 PM
  • Saturday availability is required
  • Opportunity to teach both children and adults

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of martial arts training and practice or 5 years of educational instruction with certified degree
  • Strong understanding of martial arts fundamentals, techniques, safety, and etiquette
  • Comfortable leading classes and communicating with students and parents
  • Must enjoy working with children as young as 4 years old as well as adults
  • Completion of Heads Up, Safe Sports, Concussion training, AED/CPR/First Aid Training 
  • Background check and drug screen is required 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience teaching or assisting with  judo or martial arts classes
  • Competition and/or coaching experience is a plus
  • Current or previous judo rank/certifications are a plus
  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus 
  • USJF/USJA/USA Judo member is preferred (willing to maintain a yearly membership)
