Join our team as the new Social Media Manager. This is an enterprising, hybrid position for highly experienced marketing professionals that is equal parts creative and analytical. Your efforts will continuously enhance brand awareness, promote customer stories, drive new customer sign ups, and strategically utilize paid advertising to reach growth targets.

As a key Marketing team member, you will collaborate closely with each department to develop organic social media content and paid campaigns that engage the current community of participants and hosts while enticing new customers to consider InterExchange. Consider this a challenge to find and capture an audience, not solely to generate traffic. As we develop content and campaigns, we are sharing life-changing cultural experiences, not selling commercial products; your focus is on fostering genuine connection and community.

• Paid Social Media Management: Develop, execute, and optimize paid social media campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, LinkedIn, and other relevant platforms, managing a monthly paid media budget.
• Budget & ROI Tracking: Allocate spend effectively, monitor cost-per-acquisition (CPA), and continually A/B test ad creatives and copy to maximize ROI
• Targeting & Retargeting: Build and refine audience segments, utilize retargeting strategies, and ensure paid efforts align with the broader marketing funnel to drive lead generation and program sign-ups
• Organic Content, Community & Reputation: Manage marketing communications in both directions, between InterExchange and its audiences, engage via InterExchange social media channels and online tools, and monitor engagement to support brand reputation
• Content Innovation: Conceptualize, test, and publish new posts, stories, and other formats to InterExchange social properties
• Strategy & Efficiency: Improve efficiencies utilizing existing tools, systems, and team members to ensure the right messages are delivered to the right people at the right time. Exhibit exceptional time management and prioritization, focusing on the actions with the highest business impact
• Internal Communications: Promote and guide strong internal communications across the InterExchange organization to encourage employee engagement (sharing) and interaction to boost organic reach
• Respond to customer messages via Social channels and WhatsApp
• Reporting: Report on your success using data and analytics

• Experience: 4–6 years of social media management experience, including at least 1–2 years managing paid social campaigns with a dedicated budget
• Video Production (A Huge Plus!): High-level capability and proven experience in short-form video production and editing specifically for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Proficiency with editing software is highly desired
• Paid Social Expertise: Proven hands-on experience using Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager to run successful direct-response and brand-awareness campaigns
• Data & Analytics: Strong grasp of paid media metrics (ROAS, CTR, CPC, CPM) and an understanding of tracking pixels, conversion APIs, and using Google Analytics/Looker Data Studio to report results
• AI-Assisted Workflow: Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools to accelerate content ideation, copywriting, campaign research, and reporting workflows. Comfortable incorporating AI tools into daily work to increase output speed without sacrificing quality or brand voice.
• Campaign Management: Strong campaign management skills, with the ability to take a campaign from concept to execution with minimal input and guidance
• Copywriting: Strong copywriting skills with experience preparing content briefs and overall excellent communication skills
• Customer Support: You are the first stage of customer support, answering questions
• Creative Skills: Experience with content creation, brainstorming, ideation, and execution using creative apps (e.g., Canva)

$82,000–$90,000, commensurate with experience

Monday to Friday; 9:30 am - 5:30 pm (with some flexibility and additional hours as necessary). Hybrid schedule with 3 days per week in our NYC headquarters.

We are dedicated to promoting international understanding through development and implementation of affordable intercultural and life experiential work/training opportunities. By participating in InterExchange programs both in the U.S. and abroad, tens of thousands of young people and their hosts have gained insight into other cultures. InterExchange is designated by the U.S. Department of State to sponsor several J-1 Visa exchange programs including Au Pair USA, Work & Travel USA, Camp USA, and Career Training USA. Program participants are placed in the U.S. and abroad by InterExchange in collaboration with international cooperating agencies and government agencies.
