Job Description

The Flooring Estimator position is one that calculates the cost of construction for plans. Complete take offs of material and labor. Scopes of work include estimating flooring, showers/vertical and countertops. Estimators also may create shower/tub line drawings and provide supporting documents for package selections. Complete bids using excel and any supporting documentation to complete bid submittals.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Download architectural plans, specifications, scopes of work, bid sheets when applicable

· Do take offs and enter measurements into estimating software to get quantities to figure costs

· Enter costs for materials and labor

· Create support documentation depending on builder requirements (colored flooring & countertop Minis, and etc.)

· Create additional drawings to accompany paperwork submittals

· Create bid templates and proposal for submittal to builder clients when needed

· Learn flooring operating system

· Reach out to vendors or builders to assist with bid completion items when needed

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• High School Graduate
• Minimum of 3 years in the residential flooring industry as an estimator REQUIRED
• Relevant field experience / understanding of the residential construction industry PREFERRED
• Knowledge of flooring field operations /installation PREFERRED

· Knowledge and understanding of countertop template layouts, bidding (preferred not required)

· Knowledge to read and understand architectural plans

· Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms PREFERRED

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (formulas and creating templates) PREFERRED

· Experience using ‘take-off’ measuring software

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Responsible and reliable person

· Good communication skills and a positive attitude
