Job Title: Howe Methodist Church Associate Pastor

Part Time: 10 hours per week

Salary: $10k – $15k (based on experience)

Job Description

We are looking for an individual who is excited to step into a Pastoral and leadership role. Responsible for overseeing and growing our youth ministry which includes working with volunteers to lead weekly meetings and developing strategies to welcome new students and grow the program, assisting with hospital visits, congregational outreach, new member integration, sermon series planning with the Sr. Pastor, assisting Sunday School class teachers however they may need, and discipleship within and around the community.

Key Responsibilities

·      Working with staff and volunteers to develop and implement a comprehensive youth ministry program that meets the spiritual needs of our students and teaches Scripture in a way that is engaging and relevant to young people, as well as building relationships with parents and families to create a supportive and cohesive community

o   Coordinate and lead 2-3 youth service projects per year

·      Being an active presence within the community including at school events, Fellowship Nights, holiday programming (Trunk-or-Treat, Christmas Parade, Easter Activities, etc.)

·      Teaching MS/HS Sunday School (9 am), or designating and training volunteers willing to teach

·      Deliver sermons periodically throughout the year. Minimum of 2 sermons or upon request.

·      Attend Monthly Church Council meetings and serve as the representative of the Youth Ministry.

·      Attend Sunday services (10am)

Qualifications:

·      A personal and committed relationship to Jesus Christ

·      Ability to lead by example through upstanding moral character, responsible stewardship of church finances, and exhibiting the Fruits of The Spirit.

·      A completed or in-progress Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Theology, Divinity, Christian Education, etc.)

·      Experience within a ministry program (Participant, leader, or volunteer) preferred but not required

·      Ability to collaborate with and lead youth and adult volunteers and communicate with kids and adults alike.

·      Acceptance of Wesleyan theology and/or background in Methodism is preferred but not required
