Base Pay: $50,000

Actual pay is dependent on the highest degree earned, number of years of relevant experience, and supplements included in the contract

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must pass a background check
  2. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field
  3. Possess or be able to acquire an active Tennessee teaching license with endorsement in the appropriate field

Preferred

  • Active Tennessee teaching license with endorsement to teach all 9-12 grade level Spanish courses1
  • Experience teaching in a relevant subject and grade band

Other

  • Able to support the school and district through club sponsorship, ongoing professional development, school sports coaching, and/or attendance at extracurricular events
  • Certification (or ability to earn certification) to teach Advanced Placement courses

Houston County High School is seeking a passionate and experienced Spanish teacher to deliver state-approved Spanish language standards for grades 912. In this role, you will plan, organize, and implement lessons that develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiency in Spanish. You will differentiate instruction using assessments and data analysis to meet the needs of learners, integrate technology and authentic cultural resources to foster language acquisition, and collaborate with colleagues to refine the curriculum in alignment with Tennessee academic standards. You will establish clear, consistent communication with families and guardians about student progress, support extracurricular language activities (e.g., Spanish Club, cultural events, immersion experiences), and contribute to a safe, respectful school community through ongoing professional growth and engagement.
