Join the team at Cascade Hotel Kansas City and Aloft Kansas City Country Club Plaza, located in the heart of the Country Club Plaza. Together, our dual-branded hotels feature nearly 300 guest rooms, more than 15,000 square feet of meeting and event space, multiple food and beverage outlets, and distinctive guest experiences inspired by the history and culture of Kansas City.

We are seeking a Server to join our Food & Beverage team. This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional service, guiding guests through the menu, and creating a welcoming and engaging dining experience. The ideal candidate is personable, attentive to detail, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and passionate about hospitality.


Position Summary


The Server is responsible for providing attentive, knowledgeable, and efficient table service while ensuring every guest receives a positive dining experience. This position works closely with culinary and Food & Beverage teams to ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality service from greeting through payment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Greet guests promptly and professionally, creating a warm and welcoming first impression.
  • Present menus, explain food and beverage offerings, and make knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Maintain strong product knowledge, including menu items, specials, beverages, and dietary considerations.
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders using the point-of-sale system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring proper presentation, temperature, and accuracy.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
  • Communicate guest preferences, allergies, and special requests clearly with culinary and Food & Beverage teams.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked tables, service stations, and dining areas.
  • Process guest payments accurately and follow all cash handling and closing procedures.
  • Follow responsible alcohol service practices and all applicable laws and hotel standards.
  • Assist with opening, closing, side work, and other operational duties as assigned.
  • Support other Food & Beverage operations as needed to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Follow all health, safety, sanitation, uniform, and professional appearance standards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications


Required


High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to provide professional and attentive guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Ability to obtain all required food handler and alcohol service permits within required timeframes.


Preferred


Previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, or upscale casual dining environment.

Knowledge of craft cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

Previous experience with Toast or another point-of-sale system.

Previous hotel or hospitality experience.


Schedule Requirements


Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as business needs require.

Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.

Minimum availability of 16 hours per week required for part-time associates.

The hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
