Horner & Shifrin is seeking a full-time Building Project Engineer in our Structural Business Unit. This position requires 8+ years of experience.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
  • Follow Building Practice production and design standards and procedures as delegated by the Project Manager
  • Perform and check structural engineering calculations using company, client, and industry standards
  • Participate in the preparation and checking of structural construction drawings created by teammates to meet firm and client requirements.
  • Develop and check cost estimates
  • Participate in the preparation of reports and studies
  • Assist in the management of projects
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines within the firm to assure successful completion of projects
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois, Missouri, or Arkansas
  • Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois (preferred)
  • Experience with structural design and detailing of water or wastewater plant structures or similar structures (firm requirement)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or Microstation
  • Knowledge of Structural Design Software
  • Ability to traverse structural sites, including heights and rough terrain
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Must complete a background check
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Master of Science in Civil Engineering (preferred)

SALARY RANGE:

Horner & Shifrin, Inc. offers a comprehensive total rewards package and is committed to fair, competitive, market-based compensation. The target salary range for this position is $95,000 to $140,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and geographic location.
