Job description

About the Role:

The Teacher Assistant at HoneyTree Early Learning Centers, Inc (HTELC) plays a vital role in supporting lead teachers to create a nurturing and effective learning environment for young children. This position focuses on assisting with classroom management and preparing instructional materials. The Teacher Assistant will help maintain accurate student records and support creative learning activities. By collaborating closely with teachers and staff, the assistant contributes to the smooth operation of the learning center and promotes a positive, engaging atmosphere for children’s growth. Ultimately, this role is essential in ensuring that each child receives the support and encouragement needed to thrive within the early learning setting.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 
  • Experience working with young children in an educational or childcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of classroom management and instructional support techniques.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Effective communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively within a team.



Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in preparing and organizing classroom materials and activities.
  • Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts and skills.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student behavior and provide leadership in maintaining a positive classroom environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of learning center initiatives.
  • Log daily activities and observations to assist in evaluating student progress and classroom effectiveness.

This is a part time position with hours between 2:00pm - 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be available during public school breaks and holidays. 

Potential candidates must be able to successfully pass all required background checks.
