Company Description The Hobson Institute is a specialized physical therapy center focused on head, neck, and breathing health, serving patients across the Midwest. The institute offers innovative treatments for conditions such as asthma, attention deficit disorders, anxiety, chronic fatigue, sleep apnea, tongue-tie, tongue thrust, lisping, improper swallowing, and digestive issues. Led by Dr. Jennifer Flage Hobson, a European-trained physical therapist and globally recognized Buteyko breathing specialist, the institute provides cutting-edge myofunctional and breathing therapies. Dr. Hobson regularly teaches and updates course materials in collaboration with leading cranio-facial and spine rehabilitation experts, ensuring that clinical practices remain at the forefront of the field. Team members join a highly specialized environment dedicated to reshaping patients’ lives through targeted, evidence-informed interventions.
Role Description The Physical Therapist role at Hobson Institute is a full-time, on-site position based in Park Ridge, IL. This role involves evaluating patients with complex head, neck, and breathing-related conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions focused on posture, alignment, myofunctional therapy, and breathing techniques. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, documenting findings and progress, coordinating care with other health professionals, and educating patients and families on exercises and habit changes that support long-term outcomes. The Physical Therapist will collaborate closely with clinical leadership to integrate specialized cranio-facial, TMJ, and spine rehabilitation approaches into practice. Additional duties include maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in ongoing training, and contributing to a supportive, patient-centered environment.

  • Interest or experience in myofunctional therapy, breathing retraining, or cranio-facial/TMJ rehabilitation, with willingness to learn and adopt specialized techniques used at the institute.
  • Ability to provide clear patient education on posture, alignment, breathing habits, and home exercise programs, using language and materials appropriate for diverse populations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working within a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care with referring providers.
  • Strong documentation, time management, and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage a consistent caseload.
  • Commitment to continued professional development, openness to mentorship, and interest in participating in courses and trainings offered by clinical leadership.
  • Basic proficiency with electronic health records and standard clinical software; familiarity with outcome measures and evidence-informed practice
