Hitachi Energy is a global leader in the energy sector, seeking an Onsite Support Specialist to join their Transformers Business Solutions IT team in South Boston, VA. The role involves providing hands-on IT support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring technology runs smoothly for end users.
Responsibilities:
• Troubleshoot IT issues requiring hands-on, onsite support
• Deliver and set up devices in a ready-to-use state
• Provide user guidance and training on common IT tools
• Manage hardware inventory and maintain accurate CMDB records
• Coordinate device logistics, shipping, and asset movement
• Support meeting room technology and shared collaboration spaces
• Handle warranty cases with vendors and support third-party technicians
• Perform system checks in IT spaces (temperature, cabling, equipment)
Qualifications:
Required:
• Formal IT qualification or completed IT apprenticeship
• Minimum 2 years of professional IT support experience
• Strong communication skills in English and local language
• Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently
